Getting started

  1. Open Maitora and breathe. There's no account and no sign-up — you can begin a practice the moment the app opens.
  2. Let the home screen guide you. "Today" suggests a practice for the moment. Tap Begin to start at the suggested length, or Choose to set it yourself.
  3. Say hello to Mitra. Tap "How are you feeling?" at the top of Today for a gentle check-in that can suggest and start the right practice.
  4. Browse the practices. The Practices tab holds all nine — Mind Movie, Breathwork, Turnaround, Meditation, Guided, Affirmations, Gratitude, Sleep and Routines — along with anything you've saved.
  5. Make it yours (optional). In Settings you can connect Apple Health, choose reminders, pick a narrator voice, set your theme and app icon, and turn on a Face ID journal lock.

Frequently asked questions

Apple Health isn't logging my minutes
Health logging is off until you opt in. In Maitora, open Settings → Health & data and turn on Log to Health — iOS will ask permission once. To check or change access later, open the Health app → Sharing → Apps → Maitora and make sure writing is allowed. Sessions shorter than about 20 seconds aren't logged.
The natural "Heart" voice won't play
The natural Heart voice is free for everyone, but it has to be downloaded once. Open Settings → Narration, tap Download natural voice, and wait for it to finish before previewing — it needs a network connection just for that one download, after which it works offline. Prefer Apple's voices? Choose System voice on the same screen; you can make it richer by downloading an Enhanced voice in iOS Settings → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Voices.
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple through your Apple ID. On your device, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → Maitora to change plan or cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before a renewal to avoid the next charge; you keep Pro until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Full details are in the Terms of Use.
I paid for Pro but it isn't unlocked
Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you purchased with, then open Settings → Membership → Restore Purchases. If it still doesn't appear, check your connection and try again in a minute (the App Store can take a moment to confirm). Email us if it persists and we'll help.
How do I back up or move my data to a new phone?
Open Settings → Backup. Maitora Pro members can switch on automatic backup, which keeps a copy of your history, journal, movies and settings in your own iCloud account — we never see it. On a new iPhone, sign in to the same Apple Account, install Maitora, and it will offer to restore during setup (or use Restore on that same screen). Restoring is free for everyone — a membership is only needed to keep a backup up to date. Standard encrypted device backups also carry the app's data.
My Apple Watch isn't showing the session
The watch app is a calm remote that mirrors your iPhone. Make sure Maitora is installed on the watch (Watch app → Available Apps), then open it. For the haptic breathing to buzz, the watch app needs to be open in the foreground while you start a Breathwork session on the phone. If it looks out of sync, open the iPhone app once so the two reconnect.
Mitra is giving short or generic replies
Mitra's typed, contextual conversations use Apple Intelligence, which is available on newer devices running a recent iOS with Apple Intelligence enabled. On other devices, Mitra still works with a gentle tap-a-feeling flow that suggests and launches practices. To get the full conversation, check iOS Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri on a supported device. Mitra stays fully on-device either way.
How do I delete my data?
All your data lives on your device. You can clear your in-app history in Settings → Health & data, and clear Mitra's note of which practices helped you with one tap on the same screen. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Mindful-minute and mood entries written to Apple Health remain there until you remove them in the Health app. If you turned on iCloud backup, delete that copy in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Is there an Android version?
Yes — an Android version of Maitora is actively in development, with the same private-by-design approach. If you'd like to be told when it's ready, email us and we'll let you know.
